Where Creativity Meets Opportunity
At Neococo Collective, we believe that every woman carries stories, skills, and traditions that deserve to be honored and that these can also serve as powerful tools for independence and resilience. The Neococo Empowerment Program was created to transform lived experiences into pathways of employment, using art and design as catalysts for both healing and opportunity.

What the Program Is
The Empowerment Program is a hands-on initiative where refugee, immigrant, and displaced women come together to collaborate and create. Participants draw from their cultural traditions and familiar skills in embroidery, weaving, dyeing and storytelling to design products that are not only beautiful but also marketable.
Our work development program goes beyond skill-building: it creates sustainable livelihoods by connecting artisans to real markets, ensuring their work directly translates into financial independence.

Why It Matters
Women in resettlement often face barriers to fair employment such as lack of childcare, non-recognition of foreign credentials, language barriers and transportation to name a few. The Empowerment Program addresses these challenges by offering:
- Paid training & employment opportunities that honor existing skills.
- Flexible work models that accommodate caregiving and family responsibilities.
- A supportive community where women can build networks, confidence, and resilience.
Every stitch, every design, carries a story—of resilience, survival and rebuilding a life with dignity.

Our Impact
The program does more than create products; it creates change. Each artisan who thrives within Neococo becomes a ripple in her community as women uplifting families, inspiring other women, and contributing to a more inclusive local economy in Los Angeles.
By blending cultural artistry with economic opportunity, our program fosters long-term systems change: a model of women-led, community-centered sustainability.
